Fatal Features of the Prohibition Blunder: Inviting Corruption

There’s plenty of corruption to go around thanks to the ongoing war on drugs. One standout case from early 2018 involves Washington County Common Pleas Judge Paul Michael Pozonsky, who pleaded guilty to stealing cocaine from an evidence locker in his courtroom. Over the course of an entire year, Pozonsky took the cocaine for his own consumption, attempting to cover his tracks by replacing the missing substance with baking powder.

Pozonsky was disbarred, resigned in June of 2012, and served just one month in jail.
